Wendy is a mysterious entity that exists within Eric(a)'s mind, normally only perceptible to them alone. She often provides aid to Eric(a) in urgent situations through either her knowledge or sharing some of her power as her own existence is dependent on Eric(a).

Backstory

Wendy is introduced as a being that exists within Eric(a)'s mind, with no explanation as to how she got there. Not even Wendy herself knew anything about the truth of her existence or any memories of a time before. She exhibited magical knowledge and abilities that Eric(a) did not have, making it clear that she is a foreign entity of some sort.

During later events in the optional dungeon of Eric(a)'s Memories, Wendy would receive some revelations about her existence. As it turns out, she is possibly Phyre, or some fragment of her. Her exact nature is still not entirely clear as Shelly also made the same claim of being Phyre, and Phyre herself was supposedly sealed by Marianne.

Personality

Generally, Wendy has a positive attitude about things, often telling Eric(a) to look on the bright side when things look rough. She is also somewhat peculiar, refusing (or perhaps unable) to ever speak with contractions and knowing an incredible amount about the most obscure aspects of magical theory. This eventually leads to a number of theories about Wendy's true origins, as well as concern over the actual innocence of her assistance toward Eric(a). More than any other character Eric(a) interacts with, Wendy seems incapable of assisting Eric(a) without their traces of manliness slowly slipping away...

Opposite of Wendy's general positivity she is hardly selfless, having some darker traits as well. She is the type to do anything to ensure her own survival, and while that is not in and of itself a bad thing, it can turn nasty if Eric(a)'s actions would do the opposite. If Eric(a) ends up fighting her and losing during the Earth trip then Wendy will remember that event quite bitterly, colouring some interactions with her in the future, with Wendy being far less accommodating of Eric(a)'s feelings if it conflicts with her own thoughts.

Base Stats

During the optional dungeon Eric(a)'s Memories Wendy appears as a guest party member alongside Ganguro Isabelle. With her stat spread and available skills, Wendy is primarily used as a magical attacker. Her ATK stat is deceptively low however, as her Umbrella Blade scales her basic attack off of her AGI stat in addition to her ATK stat, making her physical attacks no slouch, especially if combined with Phantom Speed.

The base stats below already include the stats from all of Wendy's irreplaceable equipment.

Stat Improvements

  • Gains +100 MHP, +20 MMP, +10 DEF, and +10 MDF if Eric(a) hugs her before the Starheart fight in Eric(a)'s Memories.

Relationship

So far, affection points with Wendy have no use in the game. However, accepting her requests yields benefits of new skills and stats, at the cost of feminizing Eric(a) further.

Affection

You can raise affection with Wendy in the following ways:

  • Do It for Her: During the Earth Trip, refusing to join the others to fight Gloomwing will have Wendy reveal that her existence is possibly dependent on the magic in the Magical Camp's pocket dimension. Returning to Earth with its general lack of magic may essentially kill her. Agreeing to join the girls after this will make Wendy believe that Eric(a) is doing it for her, granting an affection point. This does not harm your relationship with the other girls as they are not witness to Eric(a)'s indecision.
  • Comfort When It's Most Needed: At the end of the Eric(a)'s Memories dungeon, before fighting the final boss Starheart, Wendy will be crying from learning of her connection to Phyre. If Eric(a) hugs Wendy even after hearing her new theories, two affection points will be gained in addition to boosting Wendy's stats and restoring her HP and MP.
  • Clean Slate: If Eric(a) and Wendy were on bad terms as a result of the Hidden Mastermind interaction below, then at the end of the Mermaid Magic Overdose event their negative relationship will reset back to a neutral affection level.

You can lower affection with Wendy in the following ways:

  • Refuse the Call: During the Earth Trip, refusing to join the others to fight Gloomwing will force Wendy to reveal that if Eric(a) leaves, she may disappear and essentially die. Continued refusal even after that will make Wendy angry and lose an affection point.

Interactions

Wendy will often make comments (that only Eric(a) can hear) throughout general gameplay. Aside from that there are a few instances where more direct interactions happen with her.

  • Where am I?: Wendy's Dream Meetings are a series of four events where Wendy meets with Eric(a) inside their dreams. Multiple elements are unlocked through these dreams, including new skills, Phyre's Tower, and Eric(a)'s Memories.
  • Open Your Mind: During the boss fight with Veronica, provided the first dream meeting has happened, Wendy will offer assistance in the form of a new spell. Agreeing to it will give Eric(a) Lovely Barricade, as well as a stage of the Feminine Mannerisms Transformation.
    • Hitting the Books: If Eric(a) does not learn Lovely Barricade earlier, then after completing the Alaska Mission and having visited the Library, Wendy will approach Eric(a) again. Worried about their safety the next time Eric(a) leaves the Dorm, she suggests a trip to the Library to look up defence spells, which Eric(a) can agree to on their own volition. At the Library, ask Caroline for "Defensive spellbooks" in order to get to researching. This gives another opportunity to learn Lovely Barricade and get the Feminine Mannerisms Transformation, or alternatively Lunar Barricade can be learned instead, with no transformation taking place.
  • Exam Time: During the Medical Exam Wendy will appear to give Eric(a) an out. She offers to create a temporary femininity potion to help them pass the exam, provided Eric(a) is able to procure the necessary ingredients. Drinking her potion will give a Penis Reduction Transformation as an unintended side effect.
  • Dream Girl: During the trip to Earth if Eric(a) repeatedly refuses to go fight the Magico then Wendy will try to make them do it by force. If Eric(a) has learned the skill Mana Burst from either the dream meetings or core siphoning then the boss battle against Wendy will happen. Otherwise she fails to actually be able to do anything.
  • Hello, Is There Anybody In There?: Wendy can be encountered by the party in the Hallucination. She will grant Eric(a) the buff MC Wendy's Help.pngWendy's Help which protects from being MC Confused.pngConfused, MC Stunned.pngStunned, or MC Charmed.pngCharmed in any manner for the rest of the dungeon. Wendy is actually perceivable by the other members of the Cutie Knights during this interaction.
  • What the Hell?: When drawn into the Eric(a)'s Memories dungeon, Wendy joins as a guest party member.
  • Hidden Mastermind: After Eric(a)'s Memories there is an interaction in the top right toilet in the dorm bathrooms with Wendy and Shelly. During this Shelly will attempt to explain to Eric(a) her theories that Isabelle deliberately engineered bringing them to the camp and keeping them here. Wendy is opposed to this idea and tries to stop Eric(a) from listening to her. Eric(a) can tell Wendy to allow her to speak, but if the Dream Girl event happened where the two fought during the Earth trip (with Eric(a) losing so the game didn't just end there) then Wendy will forcibly overrule them, with this souring their relationship even further. Wendy says she will even reject Eric(a) from her dream room in the future, though at the moment there are no further dream events past the fourth dream required for the Eric(a)'s Memories dungeon anyway.
  • Mermaid Magic Overdose: During the Return to Mermaid Caves, if Eric(a) suffered both being a guinea pig for Alice during the enchantress examinations, and being made into a more obedient wife for Eliza during the rebellion questline, then the built up mermaid magic messes with Eric(a) head. Wendy has to deal with this magical build up to prevent it from doing something terrible to their mind, but Eric(a) still ends up with a level of the Feminine Mannerisms Transformation that Wendy will tell them about the next day outside the dorms. Note that if they were on bad terms prior to this thanks to the Hidden Mastermind event above going poorly, then it will be two stages instead, but their relationship will also reset to neutral afterwards.
