- This page is about the optional boss. Did you mean the character Wendy?
Eric(a): "What the...!? Where the hell is this!?"
Wendy: "Welcome to your mindscape Eric(a). I really did not want to do this, but it seems I am going to have to change your mind a bit forcefully.

Wendy, also known as the Dream Girl, is a formidable foe who can only be fought if Eric(a) (during the trip to Earth) refuses to help the friend who went into the restaurant and instead tries to flee. Wendy claims that she is likely to fade away in a low magic environment, and thus will fight to be able to continue existing if Eric(a) insists on trying to run home. If Eric(a) learned the skill Mana Burst, she will have enough influence to challenge Eric(a) to a fight inside Eric(a)'s own mind. If Eric(a) does not know the skill, then Wendy's threats end up meaning nothing and Eric(a) simply leaves with at most a mild headache.
The fight itself counters many player assumptions directly, and will likely take quite a while to win. Do not forget that this is a solo fight with only Eric(a). Since Wendy outright absorbs Thunder damage, the typical strategy of stunning with Lovely Lightning is useless. Entangling Vines is almost as useless because Wendy is also immune to the Bound status by virtue of being incorporeal. Trying to take her down by stalling while poisoning her is also useless. Magical Shot and Heart Blast will only deal a quarter of their usual damage. And don't even think about using Mana Burst during this fight, it will backfire spectacularly. So with all these options made nonviable, a completely different approach is needed.
First you need something that shields you from getting poisoned yourself due to the skill Umbrella's Hidden Blade which has a 50% chance to inflict the status. Since not wasting moves in this fight can make or break things, having an Emerald Talisman from the Big Tree equipped can help considerably. Alternatively have a lot of Honey ready. You will also need a lot of healing items. Do not bother with buffing moves; Phyre's Dispersal will eventually remove them and Lovely Witch's Hex will reduce your MAT in any case.
Overall, a battle of attrition should be the best approach. Since Wendy has all kinds of immunities and debuff skills, but actually not that much in terms of pure stats (and no way to heal at all), taking down her health little by little is the key. An Eric(a) with high ATK and MDF, poison immunity, and lots of healing items should be the optimal build. The ideal weapon for this fight is the Life Eater, since it deals Absorb damage (which Wendy is weak to) and heals you while at it. Rely on the regular attack command, heal when low on health, ignore the stat debuffs to anything but the two aforementioned, and you should eventually win. Remember, patience is key. Do not try to be hasty or out-damage Wendy, in most cases it won't work.
After the fight is over, Wendy comments that she cannot believe how strong Eric(a) is, just before starting to fade. Eric(a) then leaves to visit their father, and the Escaped From Camp Ending ensues.
If you lose the fight, Wendy will force you to go help your friend, continuing the game, and this moment will negatively colour your future interactions with her.
