This page is about the boss. Did you mean the character Veronica?
This article's content is accurate to the most recent public game version, 0.4.8d.
Bestiary Entry: Paranoid, spiteful, and proud, the Vir Princess Veronica is nonetheless a capable and deadly Magical Girl.

Natalie: "Please Veronica, just drop that staff and come with us. We don't need to fight."

Garak: "Great, one of those idealistic Magical Girls. Try killing her first, Veronica."

Eric(a): "What can you tell us about this magico Isabelle? Isabelle? Are you there!?"

Garak: "Hah! My crypt's warded, so you won't be able to contact your little allies here."

Eric(a): "Damn, guess we are on our own."

Spells and Abilities:

Veronica gains the following abilities while affected by Garak's Blessing:

Drops:

  • N/A

Veronica is the boss of the Tomb of Garak, accompanied by Garak, the Magico Staff. On her own, Veronica isn't all that impressive - her base spells are less effective than those of the monsters you fought on the way to face her. However, she becomes much more dangerous shortly after the fight begins when she receives Garak's Blessing. At this point Veronica goes into overdrive, and the combined magical damage output of these two opponents can be overwhelming. While in this state, Veronica will greatly favour her new spells over her base abilities, aside from continuing to use her basic attack as well. Doing all you can to keep your MDF up will improve your odds of victory tremendously. Casting Misty Illusions immediately and keeping it active is strongly advised.

After a few rounds of battle, the mysterious Dream Girl you met earlier will appear before you to offer her assistance. If you open yourself up to her influence, you'll receive the spell Lovely Barricade, as well as gaining a stage of the Feminine Mannerisms Transformation. If you deny her aid (or deal enough damage to defeat Veronica before Wendy can arrive), there is another chance to learn the spell later, or a lesser version without the transformation.

Victory is dependent upon defeating Veronica. Slaying Garak does reduce Veronica's spell list back to her puny base spells, but only temporarily - the Magico Lord will regenerate a few turns later. It is generally better to keep up your defenses with Lovely Barricade and Misty Illusions, and focus your damage output on Veronica. One strategy that may require reloading a few times to make it work is to hit her with Venomous Runes early in the fight. It has a roughly 50% chance of MC Poisoned.pngpoisoning her, and can deal tremendous damage over the course of the battle.

 Losing the Battle

If you are defeated by Veronica, the party will be subjected to the Turned To Stone Game Over.
