Entangling Vines is a spell that deals slightly below average 
Blunt damage with a 50% chance to inflict the 
Bound status effect to a single enemy target. The stats used for this skill are irregular, increasing with the user's MAT, decreasing with the target's DEF, and is considered a physical attack so will be dodged using EVA.
The damage on this spell is low for its cost, but binding an enemy knocks them out of action for multiple turns. The fact that it deals blunt damage makes it somewhat less desirable for use against high defense or physical-immune opponents, but the binding effect ignores these traits entirely. Although a bit pricey, Entangling Vines is an excellent crowd control option for Eric(a).
