Bestiary Entry: Massive, terrifying beetles which attack with brutal psionic abilities, rendering difficult enemies compliant or destroying their minds in the process.

Veronica: "Gross, gross, GROSS! This bug is even more disgusting than the others!"

Isabelle: "That's a Mind Breaker. It has been some time since I last saw one of these."

Eric(a): "Mind Breaker?"

Isabelle: "They are kind of living weapons that were first created by the Magico Lord Varek. Unlike most magicos, Varek had trouble transforming people into minions, so he created these psychic bugs. He ended up with a huge army of mind controlled slaves. It was very hard to beat him without killing them."

Natalie: "Could the Mind Breakers be controlling the elementals?"

Isabelle: "Now that you mention it Natalie, that would explain their weird behaviour."

Natalie: "Then if we beat all the Mind Breakers, they should return to normal. Come on, we have to defeat it!"

Spells and Abilities:

Drops:

Mind Breakers are mini-bosses encountered in fixed positions, albeit with random support, while exploring the Farysanian Tree. These creatures are not terribly durable, but can inflict heavy damage with their spells or complicate matters by MC Charmed.pngcharming your allies. If you have high offensive power, it may be better to simply defeat the Mind Breaker as quickly as possible rather than attempting to cure your friend, as the charm status effect will end after the battle regardless. Be especially careful when Mind Breakers appear accompanied by Mutant Plants or Mutant Beetles, as these teams are much more capable of dishing out fatal amounts of damage.

The Crazed Elementals found throughout this dungeon are under the thrall of these giant beetles. Defeating all six Mind Breakers in battle rescues the elementals, removing both creature types from the encounter pool and rendering the battle with Doom Flower significantly easier by preventing the appearance of the Wall of Roots.

Mind Breakers can be found in the Big Tree.
