Isabelle: "Most magicos emit a magical field which mutates lower life forms. Usually they can't control the mutant animals, but they are hostile against all non-magico life."
Alice: "Does that mean that Magical Girls have to constantly fight against giant bugs?"
Isabelle: "Pretty much, I have fought more giant insects, spiders, and rats than I care to think about."
Veronica: "Great, why didn't anybody tell us that we will also have to work as pest exterminators? Let's just get this over with so I can stop looking at that disgusting thing."

Mutant Beetles are straightforward shock troops. They are the least durable enemies in their dungeon, but if allowed to live too long, can deal heavy Blunt or Acid damage. Losing Alice to an unfortunate Mutant Beetle attack is not an uncommon event. Try to defeat them quickly, especially if one manages to Charge. Defending against the Rending Bite that follows will help, but killing it before it can act helps more.
