Magico: "Damn it you Magical Girls, don't think I'm going to go down that quickly!"
Isabelle: "What the...? I wasn't expecting to find one of those here! That's a relatively rare floral/parasitic magico. This magico type drains the lifeforce from plants and uses the stolen energy to create carnivorous plant/magico hybrids. Because they rarely attack people, they often go unnoticed until they transform the local ecosystem into a poison-filled green hell. The huge amount of casualties they have indirectly caused has earned them the codename Doom Flower. Who the hell had the brilliant idea of sealing a Doom Flower in a forest!? Figures, it was the same incompetents that handled the Monarch Insect you fought the other time. I swear I am sooo going to have them reassigned to the plane that always smells like raw sewage."

Doom Flower is the magico boss of the Big Tree. While this magico is capable of dishing out some heavy full-party Acid damage, her real strength lies in hitting you with unpleasant status effects. One unlucky turn can leave you with a fully Charmed or Confused party, but thankfully that's uncommon. Even so, start off the battle with Eric(a) setting up a Lovely Barricade or Lunar Barricade to hinder most of Doom Flower's attack options.
After depleting Doom Flower's HP for the first time, her HP will be restored to 1000 and she will attempt to summon the Wall of Roots to protect herself. This "enemy" is essentially a hostage: killing it will lead to a much worse outcome for Tilia and the Big Tree, with Tilia not returning to the camp afterwards and locking out the player from any further events with her.
While the Wall of Roots is alive, it grants Doom Flower boosted defensive and evasive stats, total poison immunity, and removes her weakness to Fire damage. Doom Flower also gains several additional abilities, and can cast Root Choke or Root Grasp on the same turn as another ability. Root Choke in particular can be extremely damaging, though it only works on a Tentaclebound target.
To avoid accidentally killing it, stick to single-target spells, make use of Alice's DEF-piercing magic options, and keep your HP and status effect barrier up (getting impatient can be dangerous). Alternatively, you can prevent the Wall of Roots from getting summoned in the first place by killing all six Mind Breakers in the dungeon beforehand. This also pays out a very hefty lumes reward, making it well worth the effort.
In any case, defeating Doom Flower should not prove too tricky. Hitting her with stun-capable attacks will help prevent her from acting, but simply hammering her with your most powerful abilities should do the job as well.
Losing the Battle
If you are defeated by Doom Flower, Eric(a) will suffer the Height Reduction Transformation to the smallest size as well as losing -5 ATK, -5 AGI, and -5 DEF before being sent back to camp.
