Tentacle Monsters are abominations seeking to perform the sorts of activity you would expect a tentacle monster to do when encountering young girls such as the Cutie Knights. They can be encountered on their own or with other monsters, but wandering next to a tentacle pit trap will always find a Tentacle Monster with four Tentacles by its side.
With a solid stat spread and capable of performing up to a Triple Attack, not to mention the possible status effects it can inflict, the Tentacle Monster is possibly the most threatening monster you will encounter in this area. It should generally be prioritized first in most encounters, especially in a tentacle pit trap. The only possible exception is if it is with a Greater Manavore, and that is in part because of its larger weaknesses making it easier to take out quickly.
