Isabelle: "While most magicos are only able to mutate animals and insects, some are capable of twisting base elementals into monsters. It's pretty rare though."
Alice: "But why does it look like a girl?"
Isabelle: "I don't know, but most magicos look like cute girls. Maybe it's just a theme they have going on."

Mist Maidens are irritating support enemies who pose little threat on their own; they mostly just reduce your party's ATK stat and pelt you with Acid damage and poison. They become somewhat harder to hit once they use Evasive Maneuvers, but not so much that you should avoid attacking them. Worry about more pressing threats first.
