Fire is an element a damaging move may use. Fire damage is used by a variety of enemies, from flame-based to spellcasters. Natalie, due to her Fire Immunity, is immune to fire damage, while Alice is weak to it.
Fire damage is tied with ice damage for having the most player-used skills in the game (though this will change after the Ice Core is taken back). Furthermore, Natalie starts with a fire move, and learns two others. Fire damage also has the most enemies that are weak to it. Don't count on this move to take care of all enemies, however; fire damage is tied with blunt/sharp damage for the most enemies resistant to it, and is second only to acid damage for the most enemies immune to it. Fortunately, it is usually simple to determine if an enemy will resist fire: if it's fire, water, or demon-based, chances are it's at least resistant to fire damage.
