Status Effects are an array of conditions that can impact combatants in battle in a variety of ways other than directly inflicting damage. Although not usually lethal in and of themselves, status effects can have a tremendous impact on the course of a battle.
A list of common status effects can be found at the bottom of this page. There are however many unique status effects not listed, as many skills in this game inflict status effects unique to them, with the effects simply listed as part of the skill page.
Multipliers
Status effects almost never have a 100% affliction chance. Commonly the affliction chance is 25%, 50%, or 75%. Therefore, the resistance and weakness modifiers below are cumulative with the respective skill's chance.
- Immune (Im): Target is immune to this status effect.
- Very Resistant (VRs): Target is only 25% likely to be affected by this status effect.
- Resistant (Rs): Target is only 50% likely to be affected by this status effect.
- No Change (-): Target's likeliness to be affected by this status effect is unchanged.
- Weak (Wk): Target is 150% likely to be affected by this status effect.
- Very Weak (VWk): Target is 200% likely to be affected by this status effect.
In addition to these, LUK also influences the affliction rate between certain bounds (100% chance skills are unaffected by LUK difference). The higher the LUK of the attacker is compared to the target, the more likely an affliction happens. Vice versa a target with higher LUK than the attacker is more likely to be unaffected.
Status effects that only last a certain amount of turns also offer a 50% protection against themselves to be refreshed, and make the target immune to status effects of the same type; i.e. an enemy that is already bound by tentacles cannot also be bound again by things like vines, or a charmed enemy cannot be charmed more.
Example: Alice has a 50% resistance (Rs) to strong and weak charms. If she is the target and she and the enemy have the same LUK, then a skill with a 25% chance to inflict either of those charm types actually only has a 12.5% chance to work on Alice, while a skill with a 75% natural chance would work 37.5% of the time against her.
List of Status Effects
Included in the game are a wide variety of status effects. Technically by the mechanics of the game there are well over one hundred. Most statuses however are very specific in their application and will be folded in with the contents of another page, often the page of a skill or enemy the effect is inextricably linked to. Listed below will only be status effects that are either common or prominent enough to warrant having their own page.
