Arcano Cores are described as "the crystalised souls of Magicos". They can be equipped like more regular equipment (this is called "absorption"), which is not a permanent deal. On the other hand, Eric(a) can also decide to siphon any core the Cutie Knights posses for a variety of power boosts. This does not weaken the core's regular functions while equipped and seems to generally be a safe affair, but Eric(a) will undergo a transformation from it, making them more feminine.
A few equipment pieces also go into the "core" slot, but they usually do not offer skills nor can Eric(a) siphon them to gain power. Instead they tend to offer strange and unique effects.
