The Was It Just A Dream? Ending is an ending in Prisoners of the Elder One. It occurs after leaving through the golden doors with a rescued and restored Tiffany. This is achieved as follows:
- Take the Hair Pin, and escape the Bedroom through either the Rope or its Key.
- Go to Yuki's Room. Take the Crowbar from the kimono rack and press the round pressure plate. Go downstairs to receive the Collar.
- Go to the Dining Room, tell Rania about Yuki and show her the Collar. Grab a Bottle of Blood.
- Go to the Dirty Room. Grab the Broom and Dustpan, and use them to collect the Mirror Shard. Use the Crowbar on the dresser to get the Hand Mirror. Give the Bottle of Blood to Camellia and use the Hand Mirror.
- Give Camelia another Bottle of Blood and help her clean. Use the Hand Mirror on her.
- Go to the Doll Room. Use the Hair Pin on either door and take the Torn Page from Vicky. Take the Library Key from the drawer, and use the Broom on the fireplace.
- Go to the Nexus Crypt and use the Torn Page on the altar to spawn the Transfigurative Orb. Identify the Orb with Rania.
- Go to the Library, and take the Acid.
- Go to the Kitchen and take the Lighter on the counter and the Tofu in the fridge. Go downstairs and use the Acid on the chest to get the Gold Key.
- Light all the torches with the Lighter, and use the Mirror Shard in the center of the pentagram. Flatter Aubrey three (and only three) times. The correct responses are:
- "You, the Machiavellian Monarch of Malevolence"
- "Completely devoid of virtue"
- "I tremble with fear"
- "Kissing your lips"
- Use the Hellfire Wand on Satsu. Go back to the Library and tell Gillermo "Yuki has my sister".
- Combine the Sleeping Drug with the Tofu and give it to Yuki. Use the Transfigurative Orb on Tiffany.
- Exit through the golden doors.
Perhaps the 'Best' ending of the game, it shows Erik and Tiffany waking up from what they assume to be a nasty dream, free of any unwanted (or wanted) transformations. This ending will change depending on if other parameters have been met, and all but two 'romances' use a variation of it.
