Olivia is a member of the Magical Camp staff, and is an old and experienced Magical Girl herself. She serves as the camp physician and as a teacher for the girls, as well as an adviser to Marianne.

Backstory

Olivia is one of the oldest known characters in the game, easily one of the oldest in the camp, with only Tilia known to be older. She was born in 1511 in Vienna, then part of the Archduchy of Austria, now the Republic of Austria. Exact details of her early life are scarce, but she was at one point engaged to a man, but he died along with most of her close family during the Siege of Vienna in 1529. After this she moved in with an aunt some time later.

Nothing is known about Olivia's life in the following centuries, up until the period between the two World Wars. At this time Olivia had become a certified doctor, and worked in various hospitals helping both civilians as well as veterans from the recent globe-spanning war. It was at this time that she first met Marianne in 1918 at a veterans hospital. The two seeming immortals stuck up a great friendship, owing to their commonality of having long and storied life experiences. Between the two World Wars was when Olivia actually first became a Magical Girl as well, something which was probably Marianne's doing.

As a Magical Girl and friend to Marianne the time between their meeting and the present day were doubtlessly filled with many adventures (and tragedies) together along with Evelynne, Claire, and later Phyre. The initial incarnation of this team was formed in the 1990s, and mentions have been made to their visits to Nera and The Lily Garden. On Nera she took the traits of a bat which were rather troublesome due to the newly-gained wings forcing adjustments to be made to all her clothes. At The Lily Garden, under the influence of the location and its ruler, Olivia became physically intimate with Marianne.

In modern day Olivia now serves as staff to the Magical Camp beside Marianne, the other members of their team lost to them through various tragedies. She even performed the autopsies following Evelynne's car accident herself, confirming for Marianne that the two bodies were Evelynne and their child.

Personality

Unlike her reckless and disorganized friend and employer, Olivia is a meticulously well-organized individual. This goes beyond simply keeping a tidy home; Olivia is one of the most intelligent, perceptive, and well-studied members of the camp staff. For this reason, she handles all student medical needs, teaches many of the classes, acts as a voice of reason to Marianne, and handles much of the more sensitive diplomatic interactions with other organizations, such as establishing Magical Camp's alliance with the Vir people at Valti. As great as Olivia's work ethic is, it possibly even goes too far, as she sometimes works herself even to the point of exhaustion and collapse.

Olivia extends this worldview to others around her, or at least to those she cares for and interacts with. To her, rules are meant to be followed, orders are absolute, and crimes must be punished - any deviation from established order is intolerable and must be resolved promptly... at least to meet the letter of the law, if not the spirit. This does mean that many of the students fear her to some degree, and try their best to evade her so as not to be punished.

Fortunately, she is not so strict that she can't adapt when situations change. She also considers the ethical impact of her actions. When Marianne decides to send Eric(a) to the Punishment Classroom, Olivia voices her concerns over the safety of this choice. Olivia lives her life caring deeply about her actions, weighing the pros and cons and, ultimately, working toward the greater good. The fact that she's still sane after centuries of such an existence is a testament to how well she makes those choices.

Presently, Olivia seems to keep those around her at arm's length, limiting herself to professional relationships. Marianne has remarked with regret that Olivia has changed since the death of Claire, and feels that she probably blames herself. In terms of romance it is unknown if Olivia has ever had any serious relationships after the death of her original fiancé though it is known she is bisexual. She had some intimacy with Marianne during their time at the Yuri Garden, though it is difficult to tell if there were true feelings behind that or just the influence of the location. During the second day at the Watanabe Inn though Olivia can be found sleeping and giggling about a dream and how sweet she finds Marianne's taste.

Interactions

  • During the Medical Exam event, as the camp physician Olivia is the one tasked with inspecting Eric(a). The player can either dodge it through talking long enough with Marianne which exasperates Olivia, or go through with it and let her examine them. Taking Wendy's potion will ensure Olivia finds nothing amiss, otherwise this will result in the Sissy Maid Game Over.
  • After the Alaska Mission, Olivia can be found working at the Library. Interacting with her will have her collapse shortly after. With Melancia's help Eric(a) will take her back to her room, followed by a short scene of Eric(a) trying to prevent Olivia from continuing to go right back to work after regaining consciousness.
    • The next morning, Olivia can be found in the library again, where the player is given the option to help her with the paperwork. The two will still take an entire day to finish all the work, but Olivia will remark on Eric(a)'s ability that they picked up from running their father's shop.
  • If the player had helped Olivia with her paperwork, she can be found next morning in the cafeteria, where the player can choose to join her or not. If they do, Eric(a) will panic about not wanting to reveal their secret to Olivia, and instead tries to get her to open up about herself instead, on the grounds that Eric(a) had proved themselves to be competent enough. She only reveals that she is actually older than Marianne, before asking Eric(a) back - however, she is only curious about how they made friends so fast here. Thinking that they're playing "Truth and Dare" together, she and Eric(a) continues to chat for the rest of the day.
    • She also reveals that the dubious Gob-Gob food being served nowadays is much better than before - back then the camp served MREs from one of Marianne's friends that was expired for about a decade, forcing a change in the menu when the girls would rather hunt monsters in the Pocket Dimension instead.
  • After triggering the event above and went back to Earth, Olivia will appear when the team returns to the camp the night after, introducing them to Belle - a new recruit, one of Alice's "friends" and Olivia's relatives. However, Olivia is too busy to look after her, so she entrusts her to Eric(a) instead - making them her assistant counselor. Afterwards, she'll give them the Solaris Dorm Key, allowing access to Belle's room in future events.
  • Trips to the Punishment Classroom will have Olivia present alongside Marianne, with Olivia trying to protest the use of the cursed desk, especially on repeat visits.
  • On the second day of the Watanabe Inn during the Werechameleon attack Olivia can be found still sleeping in one of the rooms, oddly unmolested by the creatures. Interacting with her has her sleep talking and giggling about how sweet Marianne tastes. Marianne is especially weirded out by this if she is in the party.
