Bestiary Entry: Hybrid monstrosities resulting from the coupling of humans with monsters from the deepest oceans.

Eric(a): "A fishman!? Is it a mutant?"

Wendy: "That is a Deep One. I am surprised to find one here. Marianne must have captured it from one of their ruined underwater cities on Earth."

Eric(a): "Are they aggressive?"

Wendy: "Yes, Deep Ones are known to attack humans with no provocation. They used to be a big problem, but with the current low ambient magic on Earth, they cannot survive long outside of their domains. Normally, Deep Ones are strong fighters and they also have a knack for magic, but this one looks a bit strange. I think it is under the magico's control. The good news is that the magico seems to have fed on it, so it is weaker than a normal Deep One."

Veronica: "Stop spacing out during battle, minion!"

Eric(a): "Sorry, I was just looking at the Deep One."

Alice: "Deep One!? So that's what it is? Well if he thinks I will give birth to children with the Innsmouth look, he is in for an unpleasant surprise."

Natalie: "Inns... what look?"

Alice: "I will explain later, for now let's just get rid of this aquatic rapist."

Deep Ones are frustrating defensive enemies with moves that can reflect normal attacks and negate magical attacks. They often waste turns defending, so focus on the other enemies present first. When you do get around to fighting them, use skills rather than physical attacks to avoid their counter.

Like most other enemies in this area, the Deep Ones share the same set of resistances and weaknesses. MC Wind.pngWind does not work underwater making them effectively immune, and they are resistant to MC Fire.pngFire. In turn they are weak to MC Ice.pngIce and MC Thunder.pngThunder.

Deep Ones can be found in the Mermaid Caves.
