MC Wind.pngWind is an element a damaging move may use. Only a handful of moves use it, two which can be used by the player. The remaining wind moves deal heavy damage, either to one target or several.

Even though Gust and Hurricane are the only wind moves that the player can use (and can indeed be skipped if the party doesn't take care of the Assimilated Humans in the Bee Hive or fails to save Nele's assigned team), wind damage is nothing to scoff at. It has the the most enemies weak to it and the only enemies immune are in the Mermaid Caves (due to being underwater.) This makes Gust and Hurricane, and by extension wind damage, an invaluable element. With rare exceptions, if it's in the air, it's weak to wind.

There is a notable environmental interaction with the wind element in the underwater dungeon of the Mermaid Caves. As the location is set underwater, there is technically no wind, and therefore wind spells used there do nothing. Attempting to use wind skills regardless will have Wendy comment on it.
