Historica of Lovely Fate

Prisoners of the Elder One

(Redirected from PotEO)

Prisoners of the Elder One is an Eastern-style Escape Game made in RPG Maker VX Ace, created by HLF and his team, and was later remastered by JackyHF. It is part of the Historica of Lovely Fate setting.

The game follows the protagonist Erik, a young man whose sister Tiffany was kidnapped by an angel sent by the titular Elder One to be added to his harem of mind-broken slaves. It is up to Erik, who was also transported to The Elder One's mansion, to find a way back home safely while freeing his sister and evading the many traps and tricks on the way. Choose wisely which items to use in what way, who you interact with, and who you trust.

Choose poorly, and... well, things can go bad in a lot of ways.

Gameplay

Prisoners of the Elder One is a top-down view Escape Game in which the player takes control of Erik, a young man who happened to be kidnapped alongside his sister to the mansion of a powerful entity only known as "The Elder One." Inside the mansion are many rooms, some of which house other unfortunate souls who also ended up in this place with no way to leave. Those people can be talked to to learn more information, and may provide clues on the escape, take or provide items, or can otherwise be interacted with to proceed.

A major part of the game is the use of various items, from an assortment of keys, to plants, household items, and even magic tools. Each item has to be found in its own way, some even interacting with each other, and generally have a use. However, due to their limited quantity, it is also very easy to use an item in the wrong situation and thus make advancing further impossible. The game features no battles, and as such Erik cannot lose in battle, which is probably for the better considering some of the more exotic inhabitants he can encounter.

The game also offers transformations, which generally result in an Ending. Most of those endings are Game Overs due to Erik messing up in some way, and thus becoming unable to continue further. Finding all the endings is as much a challenge as properly escaping in the first place.
