The Shadow-thread Gloves can be used as a pseudo Key Item to solve a puzzle. Having a party member equipped with them allows picking up the Illusionary Dagger. Then, while Eric(a) has them equipped, the illusionary butler on the fourth floor can be killed using the previously picked up dagger.
