It's not really a bug. It's explained that the name change will apply from since you were born. Having control over time and space does that.
It gets meta once you defeat Rania, choose your own custom name and then reload the save file before you interact with the blue chest.
Erica will start mocking Rania for having a stupid name sense! haha
