Playing on the latest 4.6d I have somehow managed to hit rank 6 without losing at mermaid caves. (Did not lose to bonechiller, but got its core back and siphoned it, it gives penis reduction as expected).
I have no clue what gave the extra rank at the moment. But maybe someone can do some detailed investigation? It seems I was already at rank 5 when i drained the core.
