Dion is the protagonist of The Silverthorn Expedition. He is a mercenary who finds himself forcefully conscripted as a caravan’s guard. During the events of the game, Dion has a feminizing curse placed on him by Varashu.
Backstory
Prior to the beginning of the story, Dion has a fight with the chosen Hero resulting in the latter's death. As a consequence, the Adventurer's Guild has cut ties with him, resulting in him being unable to take new jobs to pay his debts. It is also stated by Nadia that the king intends to have Dion thrown in jail. During the altercation, Dion also suffered a seal placed by the Hero that restricts his abilities. As a result, he is unable to fight at full strength during the events of the game.
Dion has prior relationships with several party members and NPCs, including Luca, Kari, Ralius and Silvie.
Personality
Dion is a self-described jerk. Despite this, he goes to great lengths to protect his party members. He is a competent and experienced adventurer in spite of his abrasive tendencies. Dion also has a strong belief in protecting children, even being willing to risk his life to protect a Maledictor child.
Dion has a strong dislike for gods, to the point that he would rather remain cursed than to receive help from a god. By extension, he has a disdain for the Hero and the Demon King. He continues to express these opinions even with religious characters, causing a great deal of personal friction.
Dion is known to drink on occasion, in particular to drown his sorrows.
