Throughout the game, Dion has to manage himself and his party while suffering the effects of a curse that threatens to transform him.<br /> <br /> == Gameplay ==<br /> <br /> &#039;&#039;&#039;The Silverthorn Expedition&#039;&#039;&#039; is a turn-based RPG in which the player controls Dion and his party as they resolve the various obstacles faced by the caravan. The game features a fairly linear main story with several choices, which can affect the player&#039;s relationships, abilities, and the transformations they undergo. Throughout the game, the player will gain various gifts which can increase affection points of party members, along with granting other effects or items.<br /> <br /> Unlike many games in the genre, The Silverthorn Expedition does not have a levelling system. Dion and his party members will generally gain stats and abilities as the plot advances. Characters can also gain gear from in-game events to upgrade their stats and provide other effects. The game does not have random encounters. Enemies are represented by overworld sprites, typically appearing as blue flames.
