They can be encountered on their own or with other monsters, but wandering next to a tentacle pit trap will always find a Tentacle Monster with four [[MC: Tentacle|Tentacles]] by its side.<br />

With a solid stat spread and capable of performing up to a Triple Attack, not to mention the possible [[MC: Status Effects|status effects]] it can inflict, the Tentacle Monster is possibly the most threatening monster you will encounter in this area. It should generally be prioritized first in most encounters, especially in a tentacle pit trap. The only possible exception is if it is with a [[MC: Greater Manavore|Greater Manavore]], and that is in part because of its larger weaknesses making it easier to take out quickly.<br />
