'''Dr. Gastani Frinzi Acula''' is the flamboyant doctor who runs [[LBA: AEDE Academy|AEDE Academy's]] medical services. He is 586 years old, and finds humans extremely fascinating. Although he seems to be fairly competent, he clearly has a poor understanding of human society, as his knowledge of it comes from unreliable sources such as human cartoons or memes. Despite being a man of science, Dr. Acula displays an impressive mastery of magic, particularly Fire magic and Teleportation magic, the latter often being used to suddenly appear in front of people (usually [[LBA: Url|Url]]), much to their surprise.

While his appearance clearly suggests that he is a vampire, so far there has been no definitive confirmation, and he has actually been seen in direct sunlight on various occasions with no repercussions.

Dr. Acula briefly joins your party early on when you first arrive at AEDE Academy, helping you survive an attack from a [[LBA: Phantoil - Nurse|Phantoil - Nurse]].

* The character's name - "Dr. Acula" - is an obvious reference to [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dracula Dracula], one of literature's most well known monsters of all time. What is less well known is the character's connections to ''[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castlevania:_Symphony_of_the_Night Castlevania: Symphony of the Night]''. Dr. Acula's artwork, voice clips, and much of his dialogue are taken from or parodying content from this game.
* Additionally, Dr. Acula's height and weight are references to the birthday of [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koji_Igarashi Koji Igarashi] (March 17), the most well known figure behind the Castlevania series' golden age.
* Dr. Acula's complete name, Dr. Gastani Frinzi Acula, is a reference to a section of the movie ''Il cosmo sul comò'' by the Italian comic trio [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aldo,_Giovanni_%26_Giacomo Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo].
* Dr. Acula, like some other characters, seems to be aware of the fact that he is a video game character, complaining that he has no back sprite.
